Cards

My niece asked me if I would make a set of cards for a Silent Auction that Science with a Mission is having.  So I spent my afternoon yesterday creating these cards from the 6 x 6 Paper Pad Howdy Doody from Miss Caroline.  I love the prints and how the colors all coordinate.  I used two stamps from Lili of the Valley for the adorable little girls, and I also used Verve stamps for the Birthday Cakes and the various sentiments.  The flower and ribbons are from my stash.  What a fun afternoon I had creating!!

Thanks so much for taking a look!!

Goin' Fishin'

My brother-in-law's birthday is coming up.  He has one grandson, my little buddy Axel.  It's only a matter of time until Axel falls in love with fishing just like his Grandpa.  I love this little image.  I got it over at Melonheadz Illustrations.  The image is colored in with Copics.  I used the Sketch over at Deconstructed Sketches.  The CS and yellow DP is Close to My Heart.  The rest of the paper is from Recollections Black and White Pad.   The brads are Antique Copper from CtMH and the ribbon from my stash (where would I be without that drawer full of ribbon??)!

Hope you have all had a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday!!

I'm entering this card into two challenges.  Mo's Digital Challenge #131  which is to use Flowers.  I'm using the Sketch from Card Patterns Sketch Challenge
The Base CS is Close ti My Heart Smokey Plum and the DP is from the Paper Pack Cruisin'.  The image is colored in with Copics and the ribbon and flowers are from my stash drawers =)  I think this image is soo cute - I wonder if the cake would make it to the table whole if the image came to life.

Friendship

One card tonight after an awesome afternoon of Face Painting and a wonderful dinner and Silent Auction at my church LifeSong New England to raise money for Short Term Missions!!  Tired but blessed.  A Challenge that I have been thinking about is over at The City Crafter Challenge Blog -  "Just a Hint of Pink".  I'm using the sketch from the Challenge at the {Freshly Made} Sketch Blog.

The DP are from Lily Bee Design Double Dutch 6x6 Tiny Tablet (the checked paper) and Close to My Heart (the "Sand" paper).  The stamps (which I LOVE) are from Lili of the Valley Set 1, Oh so Girlie, stamped with CtMH Black and colored in with Copics.  I then cut the image out and mounted it with pop dots.  The tiny flower buttons tied with waxy flax, both CtMH, finish off the card.

Earth Day 2012

So tomorrow is Earth Day and I found the cutest image while Blog Hopping at Melonheadz Illustrating - and - it was a Freebie!!  So I took the sketch from MoJo Monday and created this card.  The base is a White textured CS from Close to My Heart.  I also used CtMH Pear CS, and some long retired buttons from my stash.  The Red Polka Dot paper is from Crate Paper Pretty Party 6 x 6 Pad.  The image is colored with Copics and the buttons tied off with Baker's Twine from the Twinery.  The red checked ribbon is recycled from my Rockport Weekend at the Linden Tree Inn - Tobey had little gift bags for us and the ribbon was used in the gift bag - Thank you Tobey!!

Perfect Sentiment...

I really enjoyed the Challenge this week at The Perfect Sentiment Blog - PSC:28 - Monochromatic Thoughts of You...  What does that mean you ask..?  Create a card that let's someone know they are in your thoughts and use one color, or shades of one color...  FUN!!  I went looking for a sketch and decided to do the Challenge over at Retro Sketches.  I really do love their concept of revisiting old cards.   The Sponsor at The Perfect Sentiment is Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.  I chose one of their images for this card.  I colored it in with Copic markers.  I used papers I had on my desk (scraps) that are both Close to My Heart.  I used Sorbet ink from CtMH to distress the edges of the image a bit and to stamp the Sentiment You are Loved.  The ribbon is from my stash.  I used a Fiskars Punch to dress up the left edges.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!  You are loved!!

Celebrate!

I admit it.  I am one of those... tax procrastinators.  Today was the day I actually turned on my Turbo Tax and got busy.  I vowed I would not approach my Craft Room until I hit the TRANSMIT button.
So this Saturday I made one card.  I used a new stamp set I purchased at a great store I found on my way home from Rockport a few weekends ago Absolutely Everything (check out their website - lots of great stuff).  The set is Pure Innocence - Birthday Princess.  I am using the sketch from Sketch Saturday.  I am also entering it into the Crazy 4 Challenges which is to use BUTTONS!!!

Paper - Crate Paper "Pretty Party" 6 x 6 Pad
Ribbon & Buttons - Close to My Heart
Stamp - My Favorite Things - Pure Innocence "Birthday Princess"

"Sassy Sally"

Next it was time to take on the sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  I used on of the images from Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps and am entering this card in their Challenge as well.  I love this little girl "Sassy Sally" with the Lady Bug - so cute!!  I colored her in with Copic Markers and mounted her (and her little friend) with Pop Dots.  I chose a purple polka dot CS I had along with a solid soft green CS.  I also used a soft green polka dot ribbon.  Yje sentiment - a simple Hi! is from Close to My Heart.

Enjoy your weekend!!!

Opposites Attract...

The first card Challenge I did tonight was CAS-ual Friday.  The card was to feature two colors - opposite from each other on the chart - I chose to work with light blue and mustard yellow.  I had the perfect papers in my scraps to make it work.  I split the card diagonally and used a retired stamp set from Close to My Heart.  One of the papers had a light blue background with some wonderful Sunflowers.  The other paper is a mustard yellow gingham.  I also had a piece of mustard yellow polka dot ribbon to finish it off.

Life is Good!

Wanted to do a color challenge tonight and chose the first one I went to...  The Play Date Cafe.  The image I wanted to use was fairly large, so I needed a square sketch and went with my favorite Sweet Sketch Wednesday.   The image is a Mo Manning.   Mo's Digital Challenge this week is anything goes!!  So this card will go in the three Challenges.

The papers are s.e.i. Vanilla Sunshine 6 x 6 Pad.  The sentiment is Close to My Heart from the stamp set Tree Top.  The btads and button are also CtMH and the ribbons are from my stash.  The image "Maya" is colored in with Copic Markers.
Have a great week!!

Hat's Off to You...

I had ordered some very precious stamps (unmounted rubber, a first for me) from Lili of the Valley and I couldn't wait to use them!!  City Crafters has the perfect challenge for one of the stamps...   Hat's Off to You!  I chose to use one of this week's sketches from The Sweet Stop.  They are celebrating their third birthday!!  I decided to use Cathy's Sketch.  I did a mirror image.

The papers are a mix of Recollections - Black & White Pad, Crate Paper - Pretty Party 6 x 6 Pad, DCWV - Old World Mat Stack, Close to My Heart - Smokey Plum CS, Stamps - Lili of the Valley Set 1 Oh So Girlie, CtMH Pearl Opaques.

Happy Birthday!!

On my way home from work today I stopped in at the local Michael's Store to see if they had any Copic markers (they never seem to restock...).  Of course, I had to walk through the Scrapbook section =)  I found two single sheets that were perfect for this week's Color Challenge over at By LORi Design Challenge Blog!!  Yay!!  So once I got home after making dinner, actually picking up dinner, and taking care of our two dogs and my daughter's dog (3 Boxers - talk about high energy!!!) I finally sat down in my craft room.  I chose two images from my LORi Boyd stash, seemed appropriate that one would be a dog after the evening I had, got out my Copics (can't wait to acquire more colors!!!) and the fun began.  I used CtMH CS in Chocolate and Sweet Leaf.  The papers are Recollections.  The 3 tiny brads are CtMH and the tiny paper flowers are from my stash drawer.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  Have a great weekend!!

Easter Wishes

Easter is upon us!!  I found a cute image at Designed 2 Delight that I thought would make a great Easter card.  I used the Sketch over at {Freshly Made} Sketches and also decided to enter the Challenge at The Perfect Sentiment Challenge 26 - create an Easter card with a little "Bling" added.

I had a scrap of yellow gingham paper that I used as the base.  I then added Close to My Heart papersfrom the retired pack Caboodle.  I had some "crazy" ribbon also from CtMHwith pink, blue and green "stripes"  Seemed perfect for this card.  The image is colored in with Copics.  The sentiment is CtMH stamped in Hollyhock.  For bling, I added a white sheer bow with a rhinstone at the center.

...and they lived happily ever after

It's Wednesday - I LOVE Wednesday!!  Half way to the weekend and the new Sketch Challenge is posted at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  The Sponsor this week is Sassy Cheryl's .  I had never been to her site before today and I must say I will be returning - OFTEN!!!  I love the images!!  I am also entering this Card in the Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge.  This week their Challenge #109 is to use soft pastels.  So, I chose an image which I love - Sassy Sally reading to her Teddy Bear.  I colored her in with Water Color Pencils.  I used papers from my stash and found the perfect sentiment on a retired Close to My Heart set.  I used Sweet Leaf ink to stamp the sentiment and ink the edges of the white card stock.  I also found a piece of ribbon to match and topped it off with a lavender button.  A piece of lacy ribbon at the base of the CS finishes off the embellishments.  The image is attached with Pop Dots.
