National Coffee Day!!!

I went up to New Hampshire last night to visit my friend Cathy.  Today we stopped by four Coffee Shops in Celebration of National Coffee Day!!  (Like we wouldn't go to Coffee Shops any other day... teehee)...
The first shop was in a Barn - posted on the wall was this sign...
Started our outing off with a few laughs =)
We later went on to Waterville Valley and ended at my favorite New Hampshire Coffee Shop - Cafe Monte Alto - we had a caffein-ated day!!

I got home at 9:00 and quickly got to my desk to make a card for the Fresh Brewed Design Challenge in celebration of National Coffee Day!  I was soo glad to get home in time!!  The papers are from my stash.  The ribbon is Close to My Heart.  The image is Fresh Brewed Designs and the Sentiment is Verve.  I kept it clean and simple and used the Sketch from {Freshly Made} Sketches.

Thanks for checking in - and... hope I can get to sleep soon (I ended the day with a LARGE Pumpkin Spice coffee from Dunkin Donuts while driving home,,,  Oh dear...

Just a Hint of... PINK!

Last night I made a card for a friend whose signature color is PINK!!  She gave me the most special gift a few days ago, and I wanted to thank her in a special way...

I used a sweet image and Sentiment from Lili of the Valley.  I love their images and think it would be a good idea for them to have a store state side... don't you think?  The papers I chose are from My Mind's Eye.  The paper flowers are Recollections and the ribbon is from my stash.  The image is colored with Copics and I finished the card off with GLITZ Stardust from Close to My Heart.

Challenges:

Sketch N Stash - Sketch
Lili's Little Fairies - White with a Hint of Colour

Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!

I can't believe it's Wednesday again already...  A friend posted on Facebook that Christmas is just 12 weeks away - WOW - thanks Cathy - how to create a mood of pANIC...!
This past weekend, I did some Apple picking.  Saturday with friends and Sunday with family.  I shared a few photos from Saturday's outing in an earlier post, but thought I would share a few pics of my family.  My daughter Laura and her boyfriend Chad, my son Scott and his wife Marisa, and my neice Katie, her husband Greg and my little buddy Axel.  We had a great time on a beautiful afternoon.

We only had a short time due to schedules, but next year we hope to make it a "whole day event"!!   We will see how that works out...

On to our Challenge...  I am loving being a part of the Design Team at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  I do hope you are enjoying playing along.  The sketches are always so great for showcasing beautiful papers and images!!  This week's is no different...

Our Sponsor this week is Deidre Mosher Designs.  She has such a unique style to her Digis - very fun!!  A quote from her Bio - Wildly Whimsical and Seriously Sassy Art is definitely a trademark of Deidre Mosher.  Our theme is Celebrating Women!!
I really enjoyed working with her image!!  Now I just have to wait for the perfect person to send it to... =)

This week Deidre has provided a $10 Gift Certificate to the winning entry - Thanks Deidre!!

The paper is a favorite pad of mine Graphic 45 - Little Darlings Collection - my go to paper for a baby card.  The image is colored with Copics.  The crocheted flower and button are Close to My Heart and the ribbon is from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I can't wait to see what wonderful cards you create with Arlana's Sketch!!
Have a Blessed week!!

Sometimes You Just Need a HUG!

Hey there Crafters - today I spent the day with a couple of friends Apple Picking (although we did not pick, we bought... and I actually bought pears not apples... =).  It started out overcast but turned out to be a beautiful first day of Fall.  We had a nice day, had some yummy Apple Cider Donuts (still warm), saw lots of pumpkins, BIG and small, got in some walking...  saw lots of animals (I loved the pigs), stopped at a Coffee Shop for lunch (yay!!) and just enjoyed time together.

A face only a mother could love...

The card I made for the Retro Sketches Challenge is for one of those friends who I know, every once in a while... just needs a hug!! Going through my stamps tonight, I noticed just that sentiment was a part of the Morning Glory Pure Innocence stamp so, I created this card to give her at Church tomorrow.
I used a new Paper pad from My Mind's Eye the sweetest thing - Tangerine.  The Paper and the Card Stock were a part of my September Monthly Kit from Taylored Expressions.  Always love when that comes in the mail each month - always a nice surprise!!

After paper piecing her dress and coloring the rest of the image with Copics, I cut her out and mounted her with Pop Dots.

Thanks so much for visiting and... Happy Fall!!

Pure Innocence... Celebrate!

Tonight I made two cards with Pure Innocence stamps and paper piecing.  I love to paper piece her dress - easy to stamp and cut!!  The first is a birthday card.  I used the new Sketch over at Sketch Saturday .  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black on Colonial White CS from Close to My Heart.  I colored her in with Copics.  The dress and Birthday crown are paper pieced.  The papers are from Prima Sun Kiss collection.  I added ribbon and pearls from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!

Hey there crafters!!  Another week has flown by and it's time for a new Sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!  Our Sponsor this week is Digi Stamp Boutique.  So many sweet images to choose from =)  I was immediately drawn to this Gymnast Girl.  I have a Gymnast girl of my own.  She is now all grown up and Coaching aspiring Gymnasts at a new Gymnastics Academy she and her boyfriend have opened up.  So very exciting to see them achieve their dream of owning their own gym!!  Week 2 and there are over 260 Gymnasts of all levels registered - WOW!!

For my card I used a retired paper pack from Close to My Heart - Fanfare.  The image is colored with Copics.  The Olympic Rings are computer generated and the embellishments are from my stash.  Arlana's Sketch was perfect for this image =)

All images/designs are created and copyright owned by Sally-Ann Hancock. Woven Together with Love!!

That is the sentiment on the inside of my card.  I created this yesterday for a friend at my Church who really is amazing!!  She is a Mom!!  And not just any Mom - she has grown children and takes in Foster Children.  I love to watch them arrive at Church each Sunday.  The kids are all dressed so cute and greet me with a big hug!!  This Thursday she is Adopting the two youngest.  It will be a day celebrating Love!!

I used a Retired Stamp from Close to My Heart to create her family tree.  The hearts on the tree represent all of the children.  The three hearts off the tree represent her married daughter and first grandson!!  The papers and ribbon are from my stash, the inks are all Close to My Heart.  The ribbon wrapped around the card just makes me think of a big Hug...

I am entering this card in the Papertake Weekly Challenge - Things that make you go "Awww"....

Thanks for visiting!!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday Sketch #171-103

Wow - time for a new Challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  That week sure flew by!!

This week our Sponsor is Pattie's Creations - what wonderful images we had to work with.  Mine is the perfect image for a Masculine Birthday card.  I don't know about you, but I often struggle creating masculine cards.  This one just fell into place with Arlana's great Sketch from the Past and Pattie's Image!!  My papers are Echo Park - Note to Self.  I embellished with Bakers Twine from The Twinery, A crocheted flower from Close to My Heart and a cute little fish charm I picked up at a new Scrapbooking store called Kept Creations.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set Campin' Fever from CtMH.   The image is colored with Copics.

Meet Pattie Gomez and please check out Pattie's Creations...
I am an Internet Technology Professional and an Artist. I always dreamed of being an artist, but I found out quickly that I needed another field to support my family so I pursued a Degree in Information Technology. I love to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Fireworks to enhance my work.
I created a character called Pattieboop and her cat named Allie. I have had so much fun coming up with different images so I also created a site to sell them. You can go to my store to find out more about Pattieboop & Allie. I know you will just love them when you see them.     My store: http://www.etsy.com/shop/pattiescreations
Pattieboop is an 11 year old girl who is very opinionated. She was created by me, Pattie Gomez on September 7, 2009. Pattieboop is an average 11 year old and she loves dressing up. She is very petite in nature but stands tall because her mother always told her that “If you stand tall you will one day become someone important”. Pattieboop always remembers her mother’s words and makes sure she is noticed.  Pattieboop has a favorite pet named Allie. Allie is a slender black cat and loves playing and spending time with Pattieboop. Allie spends most of her days napping and her nights are spent getting in to mischief

Thanks so much for visiting my Blog!!  I do hope you will stop by Sweet Sketch Wednesday and play along with us!  I can't wait to see your creations!!

Fresh Brewed Designs has a great Monthly Facebook Challenge.  There are Free Digis to use - how awesome is that?!?   This month the Challenge is to create a card with... something extra!!!  For this card I used the "Happy Fall Girl" Digi.  I chose to make a 3-D card for my something extra.  I am also entering this card in the Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes.  I typed the Sentiment on my computer - "Pumpkin Whoopie Pies... Retro Sketch #27

Whenever I make a card I always think when I'm done "Why didn't I make two?"...  So today I did just that.  I wanted to make Birthday cards for two friends at my church whose birthdays are coming up in these next two weeks.

It's been a beautiful day here in New England.  Breezy, in the 70's...  it would have been a very peaceful day BUT I had three Boxers to tend to today.  Boston and Summer are ours, and we have been taking care of our daughter's Boxer Tyson.  They have really been good, just busy..!  Two needed baths before they could come back into the house - that is how hard they play!!  All in all it's been a great day!
