Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!

Hi there friends!!  As I write this post, I am watching after storm coverage.  I am grateful that Sandy was not as tough on Cape Cod as she was on other parts of the East Coast.  My heart goes out to all who suffered great loss.  I am shocked by the pictures of the Jersey Shore and NY City.  WOW!!  Mother Nature is so very powerful!  My prayers go out to all those affected...

Yesterday, when I got to leave work early due to the storm, I made two more cards for this week's sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  So, I have three cards to share with you this week.

Our wonderful Sponsor this week is Jenn over at The Doodle Garden:

HI all!
Thanks for taking the time to get to know a little bit about the gal behind The Doodle Garden digis!

I'm Jennifer L Nilsson (but please, call me Jenn or Jenna!). And I am blessed to be able to work full-time from home as a licensed artist.

I enjoy creating bright whimsical pieces for manufacturers, but also wanted to be able to offer something to those who like to craft. So I have begun my journey with digistamp designs with my Etsy shop: The Doodle Garden.

It's fairly new, but is growing pretty fast and I am SOOO enjoying creating these little whimsies for YOU!

The winner of this week's Challenge will be able to choose 5 single digis!!  Check out her shop, the images are wonderful!!

Now for the Sketch:

And now for the cards:

First image - T-Rex, perfect image for all those little dinosaur lovers =)

Second image - Little Beebee, perfect for your sweet little honey bee...

Third image - Turtle Girl for your little nature lover =)

I really enjoyed creating these cards with Arlana's Sketch.  I do hope you will pay along!!

So, after you have hugged your loved ones, counted your blessings and said a prayer for those suffering from the affects of Sandy... get crafting, it's good for the Soul!!

Blessings to you all!!

I used the cute image Jesse Moon - so sweet!!

Here is a little info on Jodie, that woman behind Bugaboo:

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: As if raising  five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing! From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects. Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!

If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps stamps at Totally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug.

Here is Arlana's Sketch...

Sympathy...

I used the Sketch over at Retro Sketches to make three Sympathy cards.  I think this is a Sketch I will go back to often.  Beautiful Sketch, easy to create, and so versatile!!
There was a tragic death this weekend of a young man who was best friend to Anthony, a Senior at our church.  So hard to find words to say...  Lots of hugs, prayers and acknowledgement of his hurting heart, was all I could do...  Such a reminder of the fact that life is fleeting, so important to be sharing our Faith...  I had met this young man a few times when he came to church with Anthony.  My heart goes out to his family and friends...
Also, a young Mom at our church, Tina, lost her Grandmother last week.  Another passing, of a woman who lived a long and blessed life...  still there are hurting hearts left behind...

For Anthony...

For Melinds, Anthony's Mom...

For Tina and her family...

The papers are all from my stash.  The burlap "ribbon" and Butterflies are Close to My Heart.  The organza ribbon from my stash, the the Scripture stamp God is our Refuge and Strength, an ever present HELP in trouble... is Verve.
Challenges:
Retro Sketches:  The Sketch

CR84FN65 - Tan, Cream and Pink
Stampin' Sisters in Christ - A card representing Peace...

Life is Good!

We had a Birthday Party tonight for my daughter's boyfriend Chad.  I chose to use a retired stamp set from Close to My Heart - Life is Good.  Of course Happy Birthday is the sentiment inside...  but Life is Good about sums up all that has been going on in Chad, and my daughter's lives right now.  They have successfully opened a Gymnastics Academy a little over a month ago and have in excess of 300 kids signed up - LIFE IS GOOD!!

Everything on my card is Close to My Heart except for the twine which is from The Twinery.  I used the Sketch from Sketch Saturday.  I am also entering this card in the Challenge over at Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by - I really do appreciate it!!

Blessings - Sally

SSW - Saturated Canary

Welcome back to Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!  Another week, another awesome Sketch!!

This week we are sponsored by Krista Smith at Saturated Canary!!  I love her images - if you haven't checked out here Digi's yet, definitely do!! Meet Krista:

My name is Krista Smith. I am the artist behind, Saturated CanaryDigis. I began working in the stamping world about a year ago when I was hired to create rubber designs for the sweet Scottish company, Sugar Nellie. They launched my artwork under the name 'Simply Sassy.' I moved into the digital world just this past month (it's been a super busy month, indeed!). And-- I love it!! There is a little more freedom here, as I can create anything that pops into my head:)! I am so humbled by the artistic talent of the girls coloring in my designs-- it is truly an inspiration! Likewise, I am so thankful for the friendships I've made in this wonderful and lovely crafty community! It's been a true delight!   I'd love for you to stop by my challenge/inspiration blog, Saturated Canary Challenge and join in the fun...And, while you're there, click over to my personal blog (Saturated Canary) and introduce yourself! I am a bit eclectic and touch on everything from family (I've got me a great one!) to fashion (obsessed!)...Please say 'hi!'...I'd love to be friends!:)

I used the Image Fly Girl to create this Halloween card.  The papers are Enchanted from Authentique.  I colored her in with Copics, Fussy cut the image out, added some Glitz Stardust from Close to My Heart and mounted her with Pop Dots.  The embellishments are from my stash.

I love the sketch Arlana created for this week.
I hope you will join us this week - I can't wait to see your creations!!

I also wanted to share a Blessing with you...  A sweet girl at my Church, Alexis, gave me a card she made to thank me for the cards I have given her.  I was so Blessed by her card and that she was inspired to create it herself!!  Just think, another generation of Papercrafters has been born =)

I now know who will be receiving my card from this week!!

Happy Crafting friends!!  Blessings to you all!!
